House 23-26
Contract Document Phase
The facade separates the house from the street, concealing the courtyard and preserving the openness of the design. The cantilevered roof hovers over the facade, featuring cut-outs that blend the landscape with the structure. To engage with the house is to pass through the garden, a walk through the landscape. A stone wall partitions the public area from the private spaces, with cut-outs that visually connect both areas. Bamboos along this wall cut through the roof, allowing sunlight and breezes to enter the house. Sliding metal screens provide both privacy and openness for the spaces.
